Chiefs outlast Rock on the road

Danton Miller's goal with 1:25 remaining in regulation time gave the Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs a 9-8 victory over the Oakville Rock Monday at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre.
Miller's goal capped a crazy final 40 minutes where both teams exchanged leads several times.
The Chiefs got off to a great start thanks to a pair of goals from Jordan Durston and singles from Wayne VanEvery and Craig Point.
But in the second period, the Rock dominated.
Brett Hickey and rob Hellyer led the seven-goal barrage,

scoring two goals each, while Todd Kozak, Mitch Desnoo and Stephan Leblanc added singles.
Kyle Jackson and Dhane Smith were the only Chiefs response.
In the third period, Point scored his second goal of the game and Ryan Benesch gave the Chiefs another lead midway through the frame. Wes Berg tied things up one more time, before Miller, who is the senior B Six Nations Rivermen leading scorer, netted the game-winner.
Dillon Ward had to be really sharp for the Chiefs, making 41 stops for the win, while Nick Rose made 32 saves.
The Chiefs improve to 6-1 on the season and are tied with the Peterborough Lakers at the top of Major Series Lacrosse.
Tuesday, the Chiefs host the Brooklin Redmen at the Iroquois lacrosse Arena at 8 p.m.
