Chiefs edged in Brooklin

The Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs almost did it again.
Down in the third period for the second night in a row, the Chiefs came roaring back, but on Wednesday they couldn't come all the way back, dropping a 9-8 decision to the Brooklin Redmen on the road.
Down five goal with seven minutes to go, the Chiefs went to work, with Jon Sullivan, Randy Staats, Craig Point and Randy Staats scoring goals during a crazy four minute span. But goals by Curtis Knight and Adrian Sorichetti early in the frame gave the Redmen the insurance they needed.
Early in the game, the Chiefs showed some effects from a grueling game the night before, getting down early thanks to goals from Kevin Brownell and Shayne Jackson.
Midway through the first period, the Chiefs bounced back to take the lead with goals from Cody Jamieson, Point and Stephen Keogh.
But in the second period, the Redmen dominated, with Austin Shanks, Ryan MacSpayden, Mark Matthews scoring one goal each, while Dan Lintner added two goals to the cause.
Dillon Ward was tagged with the loss between the pipes, making 38 saves, while Mike Poulin made 47 stops in the win.
The two teams will renew hostilities on Tuesday at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena at 8 p.m.
