Miller, Benesch shine in Game 4

Making his second-consecutive start, the Chiefs' goalie continued to haunt the Peterborough Lakers, making 49 saves, while Benesch added five goals and two assists as the Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs grabbed an 8-6 win over the Lakers in Game 4, to tie the best-of-seven Major Series Lacrosse final.
While Miller made 18 stops in the third period, Benesch scored the game-winner 2:41 seconds into the final frame, and added the insurance marker 10 minutes later.
Adam Jones tied things up for the Lakers 19 second prior to Benesch taking over.
Benesch showed he had the hot hand early in the game
, scoring a pair of goals in the first period, while Randy Staats continued his brilliant post season with one.
Turner and Scott Evans responded for the Lakers.
In the second period the Lakers took the lead thanks to Chad Tutton and Curtis Dickson, before Staats and Dhane Smith helped regain the momentum. Cory Vitarelli again tied things up, before Benesch scored his third of the game to give the Chiefs a one-goal lead heading into the final period.
With the MSL series tied 2-2, thing shift back to the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena Monday at 8pm.
OUT WEST: The Victoria Shamrocks clinched the Western Lacrosse Association championship for a third-straight season, sweeping the New Westminster Salmonbellies in their best-of-seven final. In Game 4 Friday, the Shamrocks earned the right to host the 2015 Mann Cup with a 10-5 victory.
