Chiefs bounce back with win over Kodiaks

The Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs got some payback on Sunday night in Waterloo.
After a tough loss to the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks in the season opener Tuesday, the Chiefs scored six times in the first period and added two in the third, to return the favour with an 8-6 victory on the road.
Dhane Smith returned to his old stomping grounds and led the Chiefs with a hat trick, including a pair in the first period. Vaughn Harris also scored two goals in the first period, while Kedoah Hill and Dave Brock pitched in with one goal each.
Ryan Benesch scored the lone Kodiaks goal.
In the second period, it was all Kodiaks, with Benesch scoring two more goals, while Chad Cummings and Luke Laszkiewicz adding one each.
The Kodiaks got within a goal early in the third period thanks to a Jordan Dance goal, but Brandon Goodwin and Smith made sure the Chiefs had some insurance.
The Chiefs are back in action on Tuesday at home, when they host the Oakville Rock at 8pm, at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.
On Tuesday, the first 100 paid fans will receive a Chiefs ball cap.
