The 2015 MSL Draft

The Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs added some depth on the back end during the Major Series Lacrosse draft this weekend.
Paxton Leroux
With the 15th pick in the third round, the Chiefs selected
Paxton Leroux.
Leroux, from Peterborough, played in only five games with the Jr Lakers last year. The season before, he played in 13, and had a goal and an assist.
The six-foot-three, 200 pound defencemen also plays hockey for the Quad City Mallards of the ECHL.
Leroux spent his OHL career with the Kitchener Rangers and London Knights, going to the Memorial Cup with the Knights in 2013.
Undrafted, he was released by the New York Rangers at training camp has one assist in 20 games with the Mallards.
During the National Lacrosse League draft, the Minnesota Swarm drafted him 40th overall.
Anthony Patterson
With the 21st pick in the fourth round, the Chiefs stayed close to home and selected
Anthony Patterson from the Six Nations Arrows.
Patterson spent four years with the Arrows and scored seven goals and six assists last season, before adding six goals and eight assists during the team's run to the Minto Cup in the playoffs.
The Rochester Knighthawks selected Patterson 46th overall in this year's NLL draft and he currently plays for the Ohsweken Demons in CLAX.

Patterson and Leroux are joined by Quinn Powless, who along with Johnny Powless, were protected by the Chiefs prior to the draft.
"Johnny is the best graduating junior in Canada and has not reached his full potential as a lacrosse player," general manager Duane Jacobs said. "He has the ability to adopt his play to any situation."
"Quinn is a big right hand shot with scoring ability," Jacobs said. "He can shoot from the outside and uses his size to drive to the net. Quinn is currently playing for the New England Black Wolves and the his experience will only make him better in his development. We expect Quinn to make our team."
